While addressing students and professors on the academic forum - the College of Europe in Belgian city of Bruges, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, specified the current state of play as regards her portfolio - the External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy. Especially on ENP and the Mediterranean from the optimistic views to cooperation with 4 “avant-garde” countries in ENP: Ukraine, Moldova, Morocco and Israel, to cautious but firm belief that as a member of Middle East Quartet and co-chair of the Paris Donors’ Conference, EU is in a position to bring solution to the Middle East impasse, to clarification of views and EU position vis-à-vis topic in-focus: Union for the Mediterranean and Barcelona Process.
